Entitled ‘The stories and songs of Kumar Gandharva’, this concert at the Bangalore International Center included readings of excerpts from my forthcoming biography of Kumarji, with performances of his bandishes. Gautam Tembhekar’s theka was impeccable, sonorous and life-infusing as usual, and Bharath Hegde’s warm harmonium playing added color to the evening.
